Trade Only Gateway - Accessing the System

Q: What do I need to access Trade Only Gateway?

A: Simply an Internet Connection. The Trade Only GATEWAY system is browser based, so there is no need to install any software – simply launch the internet and away you go!

Q: What browsers support Trade Only Gateway

A: Internet Explorer 7 and later, Firefox 3.5 and later, Chrome Version 5 and later, Safari Version 4 and later

Q: Does Trade Only Gateway work on an Apple Mac

A: Yes, again providing you have an Internet connection – you can simply access the system online.

Q: What happens if I forget my password?

A: Not a problem - simply click on the ‘Retrieve Forgotten Password’ link on the main login page.

Q: Can I access Trade Only Gateway from anywhere in the world?

A: Yes, providing a stable Internet connection is in place – If you can get online, you can get on the system!

Q: Is Trade Only Gateway supported on iPad?

A: Yes, the system can be accessed and used on an iPad. However we will be launching our office Trade Only GATEWAY iPad application later in the year.

Q: Does the system allow unlimited users?

A: The basic Trade Only GATEWAY system includes 2 user licenses, the standard system includes 5 user licenses. However additional licenses can be purchased when required, so it's extremely flexible.

Trade Only Gateway – Managing your Products

Q: How can I get my products into the Trade Only Gateway?

A: You can simply submit a spreadsheet containing your product data directly to our team. We will format the information and upload it into the GATEWAY system for you! Alternatively you can enter the products yourself manually or even discuss integrating your system with ours.

Q: Can I import my own products?

A: Not currently, but we will be introducing this ability in a later release

Q: Can Trade Only Gateway be integrated with my own system

A: We see this as a phase 2 approach as at this moment in time. The key is to get your data onto GATEWAY so that your data is available to distributors using the Trade Only VISION system.

Q: If I enter my products how many distributors will have access to the system?

A: Come June 2011 – we estimate over 1000 Distributors will have access to your products.

Q: If I update product pricing, is that instantly updated on Trade Only VISION and Trade Only STORE?

A: Yes, as the solutions are on the same platform, any changes you make to product information and pricing will automatically be applied to all Trade Only VISION and Trade Only STORE websites.

Q: Am I limited to the number of products I can enter?

A: There are no limits whatsoever.

Q: Does the system use pricing codes?

A: It does. We have introduced the ability to enter your recommended retail prices and apply a pricing code to calculate your cost prices. Alternatively we have introduced the ability for you to enter your cost prices, apply a pricing code to calculate your selling prices.

Q: What is the required format for product images?

A: We pride ourselves on high-resolution product images that look great when customers logos are applied via virtual sampling, therefore we ask that your images conform to some simple guidelines. Click here to download the image guidelines

Trade Only Gateway – Order Status Updates

Q: How does the system capture purchase orders from distributors?

A: You will receive purchase orders as a standard PDF email attachment from distributors using the Trade Only VISION system. However the ‘Orders’ section within the GATEWAY solution will capture purchase orders from all distributors using the Trade Only VISION platform - that way you can make updates and shipments in one location.


Q: Are there plans to integrate order status updates with a back office system?

A: Yes, we have had discussions about this – and will look at integration techniques once the system has been rolled out. We expect to seriously look at this option in 2012.

Q: Can partial shipments be handled?

A: Yes

Q: Can I submit tracking numbers to a distributor using Trade Only GATEWAY?

A: Yes

Q: How is the shipment information submitted back to a distributor?

A: At present the distributor will receive either an email or text notification. In a later release – these updates will appear LIVE in the distributor's Trade Only VISION system. 

Q: This all seems like extra work, how will it benefit me?

A: It's simple - you can instantly acknowledge the receipt of a purchase orders from distributors, send them status updates with a click of a button (all they way down to shipment information). Distributor's won't need to call for pricing, to find out if an order shipped or to get tracking information. The intention is to cut down the amount of phone calls, you as suppliers, receive from distributors - improving efficiency and effectiveness.

Trade Only Gateway – Reporting

Q: Does the system include reports?

A: Yes, a range of reports are available, allowing you to review statistics about your products, click rates, how many times viewed and who’s viewing them (just to name a few).

Q: How can I use the information in the reports to my advantage?

A: It allows you to monitor distributor activities based around your product offering. From this you can uncover trends and marketing potential.

Trade Only Gateway – Custom Price Lists

Q: Why are custom price lists important?

A: Do you offer any of your distributors special prices, cheaper than your normal retail prices? Do you spend a great deal of time putting these together, even as far as a catalog offering to your distributors? The custom price list module in the GATEWAY system allows you to create a custom price list for a distributor with a couple of mouse clicks. You can amend at any time – distributors see these saving in their Trade Only VISION system.

Q: How quickly can I create a custom price list for a distributor?

A: 2 minutes max!!

Q: What pricing discount options are available?

A: Percentage discounts, end column pricing, break quantity pricing, break offset pricing, set quantity pricing.

Q: What is the benefit of open distributor contact details?

A: We give you access to contact information of all Distributors using the Trade Only VISION system. This enables you to market to these users and generate more business!

Trade Only Gateway – White Label Websites

Q: Do I get a website included with the system? What functions does it have?

A: Yes, you get one website included in your solution that automatically includes your product range.

Q: Can I purchase more websites?

A: Yes, you can purchase additional websites or bundles. Then you have the capability to offer White Label Websites to your customers beacuse you can apply the customers logo to all your products.
